My mum and I made some mango syrup for out ice cream and it was YUM! We had some chicken nuggets, fish fillets and some yummy garlic bread for lunch too!

Level 3, Finally! - Free Choice

 Hi guys.

We are FINALLY in Level 3! Who's excited for takeaways?

Lockdown Activities - Free Choice

Today I was at home doing activities and I thought about doing some art. I used tape on white paper and made some shapes. I carefully coloured them in and here is the result:

It wasn't the best but at least it wasn't the worst, some parts of the paper kind of ripped. I thought this was really fun to make and it does take some time so just be patient. I just got inspired and decided to try this at home. You could try it too!

You need - Paper, tape, any sort of colouring object (paint & brushes, crayon, pastel, colouring pencils, markers) 

Here are the steps on how to do it:

First step: Put some tape onto the paper, whether it is going straight, crooked or diagonal and make random shapes (keep the tape straight though!)

Second step: Colour the boxes in one by one with different colours (the tape is there if you accidentally go over the border) (Try not to use chicken scratching / Go 1 direction when you are colouring in)

Third step: Slowly peel the tape off (it's okay if it rips a bit) and voila! You made the art! 

Balancing Challenge - Learning In Lockdown

It all suddenly just happened... 

The thing everyone doesn't want... LOCKDOWN!!!

Auckland moved into Alert Level 4 and we suddenly had to stay home and not go to school.

It started in the morning on Wednesday and everyone was indoors, chilling out at home. On Thursday, we got some online tasks that included a balancing challenge. You had to balance two forks with a coin onto a glass cup. I succeeded and the result is the picture on the top right corner. It was hard to balance at first but then when I used a 50 cent coin, it started to balance on the tip of the cup. I was astonished! I love these challenges and I would really like to do some more! I sure hope lockdown ends early, I miss my friends!

Scratch - Learning How to Make a Flying Object.

 Today we used Scratch to make a flying object. I followed the tutorials and made a flying cat going through the jungle. Here is the link to it, copy paste it into the address box! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/560839072/

I think doing these are fun and I would love to do this next time!

Scratch project - Matariki

 This week we made a Scratch project on Matariki. I made stars and when you hover above the star, it shows what star it is and the name of it. If you hover above and click on the stars Ururangi, Hiwa-i-te-rangi, Waipunarangi and Matariki, it will show information on that star and what it does to Matariki.

Animations Using Google Slides - Complex

This week we made another animation. Last time we made an easy practice one, so we made a harder and more complex one. This is my one, a stickman jumping on a trampoline into space and falling back down. 

I like doing these activities and I think they're really fun to make!

Animations Using Google Slides

Today we did Digital Animations. We practised making a person walk across the road/picture. Here is my video of my stick-man walking across the road.

We used Google Slides and Screencastify to make these animations. I learnt how to make an animation character with Google drawings, I used the tools to make my stick-man look good. I like doing these animations!
