Scratch project - Matariki

 This week we made a Scratch project on Matariki. I made stars and when you hover above the star, it shows what star it is and the name of it. If you hover above and click on the stars Ururangi, Hiwa-i-te-rangi, Waipunarangi and Matariki, it will show information on that star and what it does to Matariki.

Minecraft Science - Free Choice

 One day I was at home and went onto Minecraft to play for a while. I decided to experiment some scientific products made by elements. Here is a picture of what I made using the periodic science table.

I made eye drops, an antidote, an elixir bottle, tonic, soap, garbage, super fertilizer, salt, a red glow-stick, red balloons, glue, bleach, underwater torches, an orange sparkler, and an ice bomb. I used elements from the periodic table and created these amazing things!

Today we even watched the Olympics. our class was cheering so hard because New Zealand came first in the Women's Doubles Rowing Competition!!! It was our first gold medal and we were so excited we started cheering and singing the anthem! It was so fun watching it!

Simplifying Fractions

 Today we were learning how to simplify fractions. We had to find the biggest number that could be put evenly into the numerator and denominator.

The first one I did was 12/15. The simplified fraction was 4/5 as both numbers can be divided by 3, 3 is the biggest number that can be put evenly into 12/15. Basically it is 12 divided by 3 = 4 and 15 divided by 3 = 5, so it is 4/5.

Here are the other questions I did:

Fale Points for Week 9

 Today we made a graph on our house points. This was the latest house point count in Week 9

I made a graph on the Fale house points. Here is my graph on counting points.

I used the information in the first image to count how many points the houses had. Then I made a graph

From this graph I can see;
There are 4 Fales in New Windsor School.
Kowhai is 10 points behind Totara.
All houses have at least more than 3000 points.
Rata, Kowhai and Totara have more than 3400 points.

I think...
It is possible for Kauri to catch up to Rata but I think it is unlikely. Kauri will need 200 points a day to catch up. Normally teams earn 60 points a day.

Spreadsheets - Analysis of Completed Tasks for Wednesday 30 June

 Yesterday Ms Corbett wasn't here again because she didn't feel well again. She sent us some tasks to complete. I made a graph on how much people finished the tasks.

Not much people finished all the tasks and Ms Corbett sent out a form asking how much tasks you did but not much students answered and submitted the form. I can see that only 9 students in our lass submitted. I figured this out by adding the number of students in each box.

Red = 1 student

Orange = 1 student

Green = 2 students

Blue = 1 student

Purple = 4 students

In total there are 9 people who submitted. Not much people did their tasks yesterday. Ms Corbett will be a bit disappointed in those who  I finished all my tasks and hopefully I will keep on doing my tasks properly.
