Writing Task - Learning In Lockdown

Hey guys! Long time no see!

Did you enjoy the school holidays? I certainly did!

Anyways, here is some writing we did online today!

1. Research about Humpback Whales, 5 facts on Google Slides:

2. Create a poster about being responsible:

3. Writing task with these pictures:

  1. I see a mountain, with a small curved cave underneath, a wooden boat on the surface of the water.

  2. I see rocks, green seaweed on top, the clear blue water over the sand.

  3. I see sand, glistening with the ocean, the grass sitting quietly next to some rocks.

  4. I see palm trees, the green leaves dancing with the wind, the ocean sweeping the sand away from shore.

  5. I see a tunnel, leading away from the shore, forming big waves, patting the sand

  6. I see a lady, with a colourful object, its colours calling out, as if it was bright and joyous.

Hope you like it!

Bye bloggers!

  1. Hi Nicole, I love your research and slides about Humpbacks! I've always been fascinated how such a huge creature can be so elegant. I also liked your poster, you have made the point of, "STOP!" and included lots of ideas being a responsible citizen. Your writing task about Niue makes me want to visit the places in the pictures. Keep up the blogging!

  2. Kia ora Nicole,

I enjoyed my holidays - I spent a lot of time watching Netflix. What did you do?

Well done with sharing your mahi.
Humpback whales - I love how you used appropriate pictures. What are you planning to do with all this new learning?

I love the words you have used to describe the pictures e.g. glistening. I have a challenge for you. I wonder if you can use different sentence starters than I see.....

Looking forward to your future blog post,
    Miss Laxa
